Amphawa is a little known gem...

...not too far south of the floating market at Damnoen Saduak and right on the Meklong (not the Mekong) river. It's an area of many Coconut Plantations and is not touristy in any way. The above picture is of a 400 year old Temple and inside are some fading but still visable wall paintings. I just love the area; it's completely mellowed out. I'll follow up with more info and pictures in an upcoming post. Cheers.

What the hell are you doing in Thailand? Gemstones?

No, not gems; I write and publish books.

I had a friend and business associate who would travel to Thailand to buy top Quality Rubies and sapphires. What do you write about? how is the political climate in your region? is the economic cloud affecting the country? Intel, GE and Caterpillar announced they are ramping up their US operations a little. It's heartening to see Corp.'s get some confidence from the recovery bill. Friday the 13th feels like a day for the Bad News. My life situation involves a cash position through a small medical catastrophe, A blessing at this point I think. Wishing You Happiness and Joy, Karl

Hi Karl; at this point my two finished books are about Thai culture, myths, and are fiction. My fist one (at the printers now) is based on a Thai saying that defines a good marriage. The title is; "When Elephants walked Backwards". It's not in the least bit meant to be serious, which I hope would be obvious. My website is;
www.iauthorbooks.com and "its" blog is;
http://iauthorbooks.blogspot.com/

My purpose for this site is to talk about non-writing/publishing stuff. The political climate is guardedly calm at the moment. Glad to hear you're financially okay; hope you're well, but catastrophe is a pretty strong word.
Peace to you.

This is about the best photo I have seen of this temple on the web so far. I had been in Amphawa once on a day trip from Bangkok, but did not know about that one then, but it is now on my list of must-see places.
